Race News: Dads Streetcar Shootout Preview

0

When we connected to the Dads Streetcar Shootout, we knew we were on the same page….real cars, real guys building them, and real guys racing them and with that we started to prep for event coverage for their events throughout 2017 and wanted to take the opportunity to show off a few of their competitors….so make sure to check out their FB PAGE, give them a quick like and if your in that part of the country, sign-up and make a pass or two, or three or a whole ton, and make sure to share your good times and stories….

Who: Scotty Guiler

What: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Up first from the Quaker City Motorsports Park DADs Streetcar Shootout trio is Scotty Guiler hailing from Salem Ohio, and his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that sports a Big-Block and a healthy dose of nitrous to keep his competitors at bay. Tight lipped and a little wary of sharing his combination to tackle 1320 feet of asphalt, you can bet that lining up next to him means you had better have your belts tight and your eyes wide open.

Who: Ben Nau

What: 1972 AMC Gremlin

In the middle of this bowtie sandwich is the Nau family and their AMC fortress competing in the Quaker City Motorsports Park DADs Streetcar Shootout. True to their roots you’ll find nothing but AMC power under the hood of their 1972 AMC Gremlin. That 498 cubic inches of AMC power relies on a big shot of NOS to help him down the track. Behind that 498 is a Rossler THM400 3 speed with a secret sauce of gear ratio’s to help utilize the power early, backed by a Ford 9-inch with Moser internals and 3.89 gears gives the ladder bars and suspension a chance to properly launch the 3250lb AMC down the track.

Who: Jeff Brolls

What: 1989 Pontiac Firebird

The last Quaker City Motorsports Park DADs Streetcar Shootout feature car in this entry is Jeff Brolls 1989 Pontiac Firebird. Powered by a 434 SBC backed by a Powerglide and behind that is a Ford 9-Inch with 5:14 gears. Four wheel discs help him slow down after pushing the “fun button” AKA Nitrous and helps get him into the low-9s with only a 150-shot, all while shaking the tires off this potent little F-Body.

Make sure to check back in as we get race coverage from their events throughout the summer and fall…
