[Publisher’s Note: We send Dennis, our fearless test pilot, out to do all sorts of crazy stuff for Cars Illustrated. This time, he braves the wilds of one of the biggest Corvette car shows in the country. And, guess what? He found a drag racing in the middle of all of that chrome and wax. Check out the story and video, and drop us a comment if you’d like to see Dennis do more burnouts in unsuspecting car show attendees’ cars …. Such a joker, that Dennis!]
In 1994 Mike Yager and the team at Mid Americ Motorworks – then called Mid America Designs – staged a relaxed Corvette show to thank their customers and share the Corvette hobby. An enthusiastic crowd of 1,200 people brought 350 assorted Corvettes to Mid America Motorworks’ corporate campus to celebrate. Yager was thrilled with the response to the first-time event!
Each year thousands of Corvettes fill every available space on the grounds at Mid America Motorworks. This casual show has become the Largest Corvette Party in the World, welcoming enthusiasts from across the country and across the globe.
So please enjoy Cars Illustrated’s visit to the 22nd annual Mid America Corvette Funfest.
